Confirm your truck or SUV is rated to tow a loaded 5×10 dump trailer, with a 2-5/16″ ball and working 7-pin plug. The hitch and ball come with our rental.
Put about 60% of the weight ahead of the axle. Too much at the back makes the trailer sway at highway speeds.
Lopsided loads pull the trailer to one side and wear tires unevenly.
Concrete, soil and shingles get heavy fast — fill heavy materials only part way up the walls.
Loose debris on the 401 or DVP is a ticket waiting to happen. Tarp the top and strap anything tall.
A loaded trailer adds stopping distance. Leave extra space and take wide turns.
Keep your weigh ticket. No paint, chemicals, batteries, propane tanks or asbestos in the load.
Sweep out the bed after dumping. Your $500 deposit is returned upon inspection.
